The house was built around 1900 in the style of the Salzkammergut. It has been refurbished and renovated carefully throughout the past few years, with the idea to preserve the original style while meeting today’s amenities. The interior construction was done with a great passion for detail. It has thus created very special holiday apartments, with a special atmosphere, a home for individual needs.

Wir durften über 4 Jahre regelmäßig Gäste bei Familie Friedrich sein und haben uns immer sehr wohl gefühlt. Die herzliche und warme Betreuung, die gemütlichen Wohnungen und der nahe Wolfgangsee haben die Zeit in St. Gilgen unvergesslich gemacht. Wir werden sicher gerne wiederkommen.

St. Gilgen in the Heart of the Salzkammergut

St. Gilgen is located on the western shore of Lake Wolfgang in the Salzkammergut which is one of the most beautiful areas of Austria. This ancient cultural landscape on the northern edge of the Alps is characterized by five larger and numerous smaller lakes, which are lovely embedded in a fantastic mountain scenery.

The Sonnwirtstöckl is situated in Wengl, the sunniest and most beautiful part of St. Gilgen. The quiet, south-facing location is very close to the lake and outside the village’s centre, yet you will reach the centre in a few minutes’ walk.
